VA Great Lakes Health Care System Announces New Network Deputy Director

Renee Oshinski, Network Director, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 12, is pleased to announce that Lynette J. Taylor has been selected as the new VISN 12 Deputy Director.

As Deputy Director, Taylor will assist in oversight of eight VA medical centers, 38 outpatient clinics, eight nursing homes, six domiciliaries, and health care services to the 700,000 Veterans who reside within a four-state (Illinois, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Wisconsin, and Northwest Indiana) catchment area.

Taylor has been a dedicated VA employee for more than 20 years. She began her VA career as a student nurse before elevating to a Registered Nurse.  Prior to her selection as VISN 12 Deputy Director, Taylor served as Relationship Manager (IL/IN) for the Veterans Experience Office- Midwest.  Her VA experience also includes serving as Acting Director of Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Hines, Ill.; Deputy Network Director of VISN 18; and Assistant Medical Center Director of Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago.

Taylor received her master’s degree in Health Administration from St. Francis (Ill.) University and a baccalaureate degree in Nursing from Olivet Nazarene University. She is a Fellow with the VHA National Mentor Certification Program.  She is also a graduate of the Healthcare Leadership Institute (HCLI), VHA National Executive Career Field (ECF) program, and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
